E-signatures

You can send a contract to be signed electronically straight from Renewly. Renewly uses your DocuSign account to send it, shows you how far it has got, and saves the signed copy with the contract.

What you need

A DocuSign account, and a workspace (e-signatures work on workspace contracts, not personal ones). DocuSign is the only provider at the moment. Connecting and sending for signature require Business or Enterprise and remain included in legacy Pro plans.

After a downgrade, you can still view signature requests, download signed documents or disconnect DocuSign.

Connecting DocuSign

Go to Settings › Integrations and find E-Signatures.
Click Connect DocuSign.
Log in to your DocuSign account when asked.
Approve Renewly sending documents for you.
You come back to Renewly, and DocuSign shows as connected with the date.

Only workspace owners and admins can connect DocuSign. If you see a message saying this connection is not set up yet, email support@renewly.gg.

Sending for signature

Open the contract you want signed.
Scroll to the E-Signatures section.
Click Send for Signature.
Enter each signer's name and email. Click Add signer for each extra person.
If you like, add a subject and a message.
Click Send.

Renewly sends the contract's PDF through DocuSign. Signers get an email from DocuSign with a link to read and sign it. They receive it one at a time, in the order you added them: the second person gets it after the first has signed, and so on.

Tracking status

Each request shows its current status in the E-Signatures section of the contract:

Sent: DocuSign has sent it to the signers
Viewed: DocuSign has delivered it and it is waiting to be signed
Signed: everyone has signed
Declined: a signer refused to sign
Voided: the request was cancelled in DocuSign

Signed documents

When everyone has signed, Renewly fetches the signed PDF from DocuSign and adds it to the contract as a new version. You can find it in the contract's version history, and your original stays there too.

Permissions

Connecting DocuSign: workspace owners and admins only
Sending for signature: workspace owners and admins only
Seeing the status of requests: anyone in the workspace who can see the contract

FAQ

Can I send to more than one signer?

Yes. Add up to 20 signers per request. They sign one after another, in the order you added them.

Is Dropbox Sign (HelloSign) supported?

Not yet. It is listed as coming soon. For now, only DocuSign is supported.

What happens if a signer declines?

The status changes to Declined. You can send a new request if you need to.
