RenewlyContract renewal management (Renewly home)
For law firms

You watch every client deadline. Who watches the firm's own renewals?

Practice management software, research subscriptions, e-discovery, IT support, the office lease and the copier each renew on their own date, and the partner who signed them may not remember. Renewly reads every contract and tells you the last day you can act.

1

The firm's own contracts renew while everyone is busy with clients

Subscriptions renew quietly

Research databases, practice management and document management software often renew automatically, with prices and seat counts set a year ago. The notice window closes long before the invoice arrives.

Renewals are scattered across partners

One partner signed the research subscription, another the copier lease, and the office manager holds the IT contract. There is no single list, so the dates live in individual inboxes and memories.

Month-to-month agreements are easy to forget

Some contracts carry on month to month after the first term, with no fixed end date. They keep billing until someone notices, and nobody has a date to be reminded of.

Every contract. Every deadline. One list.

  1. 2.1Upload the contractsPractice and document management, legal research, e-discovery, IT and managed services, the office lease, copiers, insurance policies. Upload the PDFs, or forward the renewal email to your Renewly inbox.
  2. 2.2Renewly reads the termsFor each contract: the vendor, the value, the renewal date, the notice period and whether it renews automatically. It works out the last day you can cancel or renegotiate, and lists the key terms it finds.
  3. 2.3The owner gets the alertAssign each contract to the administrator, office manager or partner who looks after it. Alerts go out 90, 60, 30 and 7 days before the last day to act, so a renewal never depends on one person's memory.

Built for the business side of a law firm

Notice deadline calculation

Reads '60 days written notice' and turns it into a calendar date. No counting back from the renewal date.

Auto-renewal detection

Every contract that continues automatically, including month to month, is flagged when you upload it, not when the invoice arrives.

Costs by office or practice group

Tag each contract with the office or practice group it belongs to, and see what each one costs per year.

Key terms on the page

Renewly lists the key terms and obligations it finds in each contract, so a price increase clause or minimum term is not buried in the small print.

Insurance renewal dates

The professional indemnity or malpractice policy sits on the same list as every other renewal, with the same alerts ahead of the date. Renewly tracks the date. It does not advise on cover.

Forward renewal emails

Vendors send renewal notices by email. Forward them to your @in.renewly.gg address and the contract is captured, with nothing to file.

An illustrative example of how it goes wrong

A firm's legal research subscription renews automatically each January, with a 60-day notice period. The partner who signed it has since left. The office manager sees the renewal when the invoice arrives, after the notice window has closed, and the firm is committed to another year at a higher price.

Nothing went wrong in the firm's actual work. The date simply had no owner.

From a customer
“Renewly gives me a clear and simple way to organize our contracts and stay ahead of renewal dates, including agreements that continue month to month. What has impressed me most is how responsive the Renewly team is to feedback and how quickly they turn practical suggestions into useful improvements.”

Questions people ask.

Our practice management system already tracks matters and deadlines. Why do we need this?

Practice management software tracks your clients' matters and court dates. It does not read the notice periods in the contracts the firm itself holds with vendors, landlords and insurers. Those are a separate list, and they are the ones that renew without anyone deciding.

Can Renewly read older scanned agreements?

Yes. Renewly reads scanned PDFs as well as digital ones, and you can forward renewal emails too. Very poor scans can miss details, so check the extracted dates on anything important, above all the notice period.

Does Renewly give advice on our insurance cover?

No. Renewly tracks the renewal date and notice period of your professional indemnity or malpractice policy, like any other contract, and reminds you ahead of time. It does not advise on cover, limits or whether a policy is right for the firm. That stays with you and your broker.

Can partners and office managers each see their own contracts?

Yes. Every plan includes team access (Free and Starter 3 seats, Business 10). Assign each contract to the person who looks after it and each gets their own alerts. Tags group contracts by office or practice group.

Does Renewly store contracts that contain client information?

Renewly is for the firm's own business contracts, such as software, leases and insurance, not client matter files. Contracts are stored in the EU or the US. Please do not upload documents that belong to client matters.
