Custom Fields
Every organisation tracks different metadata on contracts. Custom fields let you add your own fields - cost center, department, budget code, project ID - to every contract in your workspace.

Overview
Custom fields are defined at the organisation level and apply to all contracts. Once created, every contract in your workspace shows these fields alongside the standard extracted data. Values are set per contract.
Field Types
Seven field types are available:
- Text: Free-form text input (e.g. notes, project names)
- Number: Numeric values (e.g. budget codes, cost amounts)
- Date: Date picker (e.g. internal review dates)
- Single Select: Choose one option from a predefined list (e.g. department)
- Multi Select: Choose multiple options from a list (e.g. applicable regions)
- URL: Web link (e.g. internal wiki page, vendor portal)
- Email: Email address (e.g. contract owner, vendor contact)
Creating Custom Fields
- Go to Settings > Custom Fields
- Click Add Field
- Enter a name, select the field type, and configure options if applicable
- Toggle Required if every contract must have this field filled in
- Click Create Field

Setting Values on Contracts
Once custom fields are defined, they appear in the Custom Fields section on every contract detail page. Simply fill in the values and click Save Fields.
Managing Fields
Only workspace admins can create, edit, or delete custom field definitions.
- Editing: Field name and options can be updated. Changing a field type is not supported - delete and recreate if the type needs to change.
- Deleting: Deleting a field definition permanently removes all values for that field from every contract. This action cannot be undone.
- Reordering: Fields appear in the order they were created. Drag to reorder in the settings panel.
CSV Export
Custom fields are included as additional columns when you export contracts to CSV. Each custom field becomes its own column, making it easy to import into spreadsheets or reporting tools.
Limits
- Maximum 20 custom fields per organisation
- Maximum 50 options per select field
- Field names must be unique within an organisation
- Text fields support up to 1,000 characters
