Contract Calendar
A visual calendar of your contract dates with color-coded urgency, helping you see what needs attention at a glance.
What the Calendar Shows
The in-app calendar displays all key contract dates in a single view:
- Expiration dates: When contracts end or need renewal decisions
- Renewal dates: Deadlines for renewal or termination notices
- Notice deadlines: Last day to give notice before auto-renewal triggers
Each date marker is color-coded based on urgency so you can instantly identify which contracts need attention.
Color Coding
The calendar uses a three-tier color system:
- Red — Expiring Soon: Contracts expiring within the next 30 days. These require immediate attention.
- Amber — Upcoming: Contracts expiring within 31–90 days. Start planning your renewal strategy.
- Gray — Safe: Contracts with more than 90 days until expiration. No immediate action needed.
Navigating the Calendar
Month View
The default view shows a full month with contract dates plotted on each day. Use the left and right arrows to move between months, or click "Today" to jump back to the current month.
Week View
Switch to week view for a more detailed look at a specific time period. This is especially useful when you have multiple contracts with dates in the same week.
Filters
Narrow down what the calendar displays:
- By status: Show only active, expiring, or expired contracts
- By tag: Filter to specific departments, categories, or priorities
- By date type: Toggle between expiration dates, renewal dates, or notice deadlines
Calendar View vs. Calendar Sync
Renewly offers two calendar features that serve different purposes:
- Calendar View (this page): The built-in calendar inside Renewly. View contract dates directly in the app with color-coded urgency, filters, and click-through to contract details.
- Calendar Sync: An integration that pushes contract renewal dates to your external calendar (Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook). You receive reminders in your existing workflow without opening Renewly.
Tips for Effective Use
- Check weekly: Review the calendar at the start of each week to plan your contract workload
- Filter by tag: If you manage contracts across departments, filter by tag to focus on your area
- Watch for clusters: Multiple red or amber markers in the same week signal a busy renewal period. Plan ahead.
- Use with Insights: The Portfolio Insights page automatically detects renewal clusters and surfaces them as findings
