Other languages may also work. The extraction engine processes any language it can read, though accuracy may vary for less common languages.
How It Works
- Upload your contract PDF as normal.
- The extraction engine detects the primary language of the document.
- All fields (dates, values, parties, terms, risks) are extracted and translated to English.
- Party names are kept in their original form.
- The contract detail page shows a language badge indicating the detected language.
What Gets Translated
- Translated to English: Summary, key terms descriptions, obligations, risk descriptions, payment terms
- Kept as-is: Party names, dates (normalised to YYYY-MM-DD format), numeric values, currency codes
Tips for Best Results
- Single language documents work best. Mixed-language contracts (e.g. bilingual agreements) are supported but may have slightly lower confidence.
- Standard legal terminology in each language is well understood. Highly specialised or archaic legal phrasing may need human review.
- Date formats are normalised regardless of the original format (DD/MM/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, etc.).

Can I see the original text?
The original PDF is always available for download. The extracted fields show the English translation.
What if the language detection is wrong?
The language badge is informational only. Even if the detected language is incorrect, the extraction still processes the document correctly because the extraction engine reads the actual content.
Does this cost extra?
No. Multi-language extraction is included on all plans at no additional cost.
